You've completed your consultation. This application is the last step. My caseload is intentionally limited to one active behavior rehabilitation case at a time, and I do not accept every dog that applies. I read every word of this. Answer honestly. This application weighs heavily on determining whether or not we are going to work together.

What this program actually is

  • This is behavior rehabilitation. It is not obedience tricks, and it is not a quick tune-up.
  • The work happens with you as much as it happens with your dog. I teach you how to lead. Your dog responds to that leadership.
  • Structure creates peace. Discipline allows freedom. That is the order it happens in, not the other way around.
  • There is no fixed timeline. Every dog and every household is different, and I will not promise you a number of sessions to make you feel better.
  • My training is not merchandise. You are not buying a finished product and walking away. You are committing to a process, and that process requires your consistency between our sessions, not just during them.
  • I hold my clients to a high standard. This application is the first test of it, not the last.

Write one page, typed, on why it's important that you work with me and why I should take your case. This is not a formality, it's read closely and weighed heavily in my decision. Address all three of the following in your own words:

  • Why is it important that you, specifically, work with me?
  • What does success look like 12 months from now, for you and for your dog?
  • What could failure, or staying on your current path, cost you?

Format

  • One page, no more, no less
  • 12-point font, 1.5 line spacing, standard margins
  • Target 400 to 500 words

PDF or Word document, one file, up to 10MB.

Final check

Before you sign this, answer honestly: are you ready to be told things about your dog, and about yourself, that you may find unpleasant or disagreeable to hear? If there's any doubt in your mind, do not submit this application.

Submission deadline. This application must be submitted within 5 days of your consultation. Applications not received within 5 days will not be considered, and will not be eligible for future consideration.
Decision. Applications are reviewed in the order they're received. You will receive a decision within 5 days of submission. If I decide to take your case, I'll be in touch to discuss next steps for enrolling and onboarding. If I decide not to, I'll tell you honestly why, and offer a referral to a company better suited to help you.
