Bridget's Story: "Bridget is 11 year old. a pit bull mastiff mix. Her mom, zena, was A bait dog in dog fighting. When rescued she was pregnant. I fostered zena's entire litter and kept Bridget. Bridget has always been very quiet, low key, sweet, gentle and loves other dogs. When she was 4 years old, she had to have 3 surgeries in 8 days, and she almost died. The surgeries caused short bowel syndrome & she developed pancreatitis. While recuperating, it became obvious, she could no longer process dry kibble. That is what started my search on what I could feed her for her to survive; a low fat, finely ground food was necessary. She is 75 pounds. So calorie intake is also very important. I made a promise to her that as long as she kept fighting to live I would keep fighting for her also. Almost 8 years later and I still have her. It's a miracle She survived the first year... now every day with her is a blessing." Lisa W
